Companies group your users by the customer account they belong to, so you can see feedback, votes, and conversations rolled up by account and spot when your biggest customers ask for the same thing. This article covers the company directory, company profiles, custom company attributes, and targeting companies with segments.

The company directory

Open Users from the admin sidebar and choose All companies under Directory.

The directory lists your companies with their plan, monthly spend, size, and industry. Click Filter to narrow it down by Plan, Monthly spend, Size, Industry, Source, or any custom company attribute.

Companies are created when user data arrives with company details (for example from your app or the REST API), or by hand from a user's profile: open the user, search in the Company card, and create a new company if it doesn't exist yet.

The company profile

Click a company to open its profile. It shows:

  • company details: name, plan, monthly spend, size, industry, and website
  • custom company attributes
  • the users linked to the company, with a search to attach more and a control to remove someone from the company
  • support conversations from the company's users

Edit the details and attributes directly on the profile and save.

Custom company attributes

Define your own company fields in Settings > Companies, for example contract value, renewal date, or account owner. They work like user attributes but describe the account instead of the person.

Supported types: text, number, yes/no, date, and currency.

Tip: Use company attributes for anything true of the whole account, like plan tier or monthly spend. Use user attributes (in Settings > Users) for anything that varies by person.

Target companies with segments

Segments can use company data. The built-in company fields (plan, monthly spend, size, and industry) and your custom company attributes are all available in the rule builder.

Combine company and user conditions in one segment, for example "Company plan equals Enterprise" with "Last Active (days ago) at least 30", to find accounts that may be at risk.
