Custom roles and permissions

Access is now based on named permissions, and admins can build custom roles from them for teammates and API keys. Built-in roles behave as before.

Permissions

  • A named permission for every admin action, grouped by area: posts, comments, conversations, tickets, settings and AI
  • Built-in roles made from these permissions and matching the roles you had
  • Triage rights grantable without settings rights
  • Settings and menu items shown only when a teammate is allowed to open them
  • API keys limited to specific scopes, enforced the same way in the REST API and MCP

Custom roles

  • Create a role and choose its permissions
  • Duplicate a built-in role as a starting point
  • Assign roles to members, pending invites and API keys
  • Assign custom roles through the REST API
  • Feedback management from the portal, within what the teammate's role allows
