Changelog

A fresh look for merging & a new brand identity

We've redesigned how duplicate merging works, refreshed the Quackback brand, and fixed a frustrating issue with corporate email scanners eating invitation links.

Redesigned merge flow

Merging duplicates now feels intuitive and safe:

  • Stacked preview cards show exactly what the merged result will look like
  • Bidirectional merge — swap which post gets merged into which with a single toggle
  • Full preview — click any card to see the complete post including comments from both sides
  • Confirmation dialog with inline undo so you're always in control

No more guessing what happens when you hit merge.

New brand identity

Quackback's default color has moved from indigo to gold, giving the whole product a warmer feel. The new palette is applied across:

  • The main app interface
  • Email templates
  • Invitation and onboarding pages

Scanner-safe invitations

Corporate email scanners (Microsoft Safe Links, Proofpoint, Mimecast) can no longer accidentally invalidate invitation links. A branded landing page now sits between the email link and the auth endpoint, keeping the token safe until the real user clicks through.

Other improvements

  • Password reset — link-based reset with 24-hour expiry replaces OTP codes
  • Profile passwords — users can now set or change their password from profile settings
  • Voter notifications — admins can manage notification preferences for individual voters
  • AI upgrade — all AI services upgraded to Gemini 3.1 Flash for better quality
